Statewide Enrollment via eMedNY System: All provider types—including physicians, clinics, therapists, pharmacies, and service bureaus—must enroll using the eMedNY Provider Enrollment & Maintenance portal, managed by the NYS Department of Health. This includes practitioners delivering services to Medicaid FFS and Managed Care populations.
Managed Care Network Credentialing Requirements: Per the 21st Century Cures Act, providers participating in NY Medicaid Managed Care or CHIP networks must be enrolled in state Medicaid. Failure to comply may result in removal from payor networks.
Enrollment Maintenance via Dedicated Portal: Practitioners may use the eMedNY Provider Enrollment Maintenance Portal for maintenance tasks like address updates, EFT/ERA setup, DEA updates, specialty changes, and group affiliations. This portal requires a separate eMedNY ID, MFA, and provider linking by PIN.
Mandatory Revalidation Every Five Years: Providers must revalidate their Medicaid enrollment every five years. Notifications are sent by mail, and failure to revalidate can result in termination.
